Exercise 12 — Unstable Plank
Applies to: RH – F, FL, T, MT; Level A only
Points: 10 p
Obstacle Spec
- 2 barrels (diameter 40 cm) + support board: length 4 m, width 30 cm
- Board moves approx. 20 cm — simulates unstable surface.
- Similar constructions with same measurements and movability are permitted.
Permitted AC/VC
- 1 AC and/or VC for “mounting”
- 1 AC for “remain in place”
- 1 AC or VC for “go on”
Execution
- RDT assumes GS in front of obstacle (D off-leash).
- At AC/VC to “mount”: D jumps onto board.
- At AC: D immediately remains in place in direction of movement.
- At TJ instruction: DH goes to D’s side, gives AC/VC to “go on”, walks alongside D to end.
Evaluation — Faults
- Insecure / hectic behaviour or insufficient coordination → devalue
- Hesitant or hectic mounting → devalue
- Insecure, anxious, erratic traversal → devalue
- Running ahead / lagging behind → devalue
- Hesitantly assuming position → devalue
- Not reaching the end of obstacle → devalue
Note: unlike the rigid board, ladder, and swing, the unstable plank has no explicit 0-point or Insufficient jump-off thresholds in the regulation. All faults are evaluated with “devalue accordingly.”
