Exercise 14 — Swing

Applies to: RH – F, FL, T, MT; Level B only
Points: 10 p

Obstacle Spec

  • Movable wooden plank: length ~3.0 m, width ~30 cm
  • Support construction at start and end with mechanism to affix plank: 40 cm from ground
  • Mounting/dismounting: 2 wooden boards, length ~1.5 m, width ~30 cm
  • Similar constructions with same measurements and movability are admitted.

Permitted AC/VC

  • 1 AC and/or VC for “mounting”
  • 1 AC for “staying” (pause on plank)
  • 1 AC or VC for each “go on”

Execution

  1. RDT assumes GS in front of swing (D off-leash).
  2. At AC/VC to “mount”: D steps onto movable plank via mounting ramp.
  3. At AC: D immediately stays.
  4. At TJ directive: DH walks to D’s side, gives AC/VC to “go on”, walks alongside D to end.
  5. D dismounts via dismounting ramp; GS is formed.

Evaluation — Critical Rules

  • D jumps off within first half → 0 points
  • D jumps off after first half → Insufficient
  • Insecure / hectic behaviour or insufficient coordination → devalue
  • Hesitant or hectic mounting → devalue
  • Insecure, anxious, erratic traversal → devalue
  • Running ahead / lagging behind → devalue
