Exercise 3 — Sit in Motion with Recall

Applies to: RH – F, FL, T, L, MT; Level V
Points: 10 p

Permitted AC/VC

  • 1 AC or VC for “Heeling”
  • 1 AC or VC for “Sit”
  • 1 AC or VC for “Recall”
  • 1 AC or VC for “GS”

Execution

Phase 1: From GS, DH walks with off-leash D straight on. After 10–15 steps, D sits in the direction of movement on AC/VC for “sit” — DH must NOT break stride or turn around.

Phase 2: DH walks approx. 30 more steps straight, then stops and turns to face D.

Phase 3: At TJ instruction, DH recalls D with 1 AC or VC. D comes quickly and sits close and straight in front. After ~3 sec, DH ends exercise with GS.

Evaluation — Faults

  • Wrong position after “sit” command (down or stand): −5 points
  • Mistakes in development (heeling phase)
  • Slow or unsteady sit
  • Slow recall
  • Mistakes in front-sit before DH
  • Mistakes in ending (GS)
  • Additional AC or body aids by DH
