Exercise 11 — Traversing an Elevated Rigid Wooden Board

Applies to: RH – F, FL, T, MT; Level V only
Points: part of V total

Obstacle Spec

  • 2 firm supports + board: length ~4 m, width ~30 cm
  • Supports at both ends; other stable constructions permitted.

Permitted AC/VC

  • 1 AC and/or VC for “mounting”
  • 1 AC for “staying” (pause in middle)
  • 1 AC for “go on”

Execution

  1. RDT assumes GS in front of obstacle (D off-leash).
  2. At AC/VC to “mount”: D jumps onto board.
  3. At AC: D immediately remains in place in direction of movement.
  4. At TJ instruction: DH goes to D’s side, gives AC/VC to “go on”, walks alongside D to end.
  5. D dismounts and GS is formed.

Evaluation — Critical Rules

  • D jumps off within first half → 0 points
  • D jumps off after first half → Insufficient
  • Insecure, hesitant, and/or hectic traversing → devalue
  • Running ahead or staying behind → devalue
