Reporting In and Social Behaviour

Applies to: all UO/GW levels. Points: V 10; A/B 5.

Setup and commands

Three people and one of the two tested dogs form the group; the dogs alternate roles. Both dogs stay on leash. Recommended circles: radii 2 m and 3 m, about 1 m between the tested team and group. The group moves clockwise under judge/coordinator direction.

One AC or VC to heel at each start; one AC or VC for microchip inspection. The 2026 guideline specifies the leash in the left hand, about 1 m long, hanging naturally without tension.

Execution

1. Both teams report at the judge/coordinator’s instruction. Dogs assume GS independently; registration and chip checks follow.
2. One team joins the group. The tested team walks counterclockwise around the clockwise-moving group, meeting the other dog directly.
3. The tested team halts independently while the group continues until at least one person and the group dog pass it.
4. The judge stops the group. The tested team enters and makes a figure-eight around the other team and another person.
5. The tested team halts in the centre. The judge restarts the group; the tested team leaves.
6. Teams exchange roles and repeat. Afterwards one goes to the down area, the other to heeling.

Evaluation

Loose-leash movement and social confidence are required. Lack of concentration, tension and extra commands devalue the exercise. Aggression against a person or animal leads to disqualification; do not wait for injury.
